FINE JEWELLERY DESIGNER Valérie Messika visited Toronto recently to present her brand’s latest collections. Founder, creative director and chief executive officer, designer and business woman; she has turned Messika into a $140 million business in a little over a decade.

The daughter of Andre Messika, one of the world’s most prominent diamond traders, she wanted to disrupt the world of fine jewellery, creating something women could buy for themselves and wear every day. Currently, Messika’s “Move” collection is the most popular and a pillar of the brand. Pieces range from $900 to $115,000, offering a range of mix-and-match ear cuffs, double rings and chokers, defined by their three moving diamonds, worked into 18ct rose gold, 18ct white gold and 18ct yellow gold settings. Discreet and lightweight, the trio of styles represent the love of yesterday, today and tomorrow.
