HP RECENTLY conducted a survey, finding that 79 per cent of the respondents understood that privacy could be compromised by their laptop’s webcam. What’s more, 59 per cent said they took steps to cover their laptop’s built-in webcams with everything from tape (46 per cent), sticky notes (35 per cent), bandages (eight per cent), and even a piece of gum (two per cent). HP’s latest version of the Spectre laptop features a Camera Kill Switch, letting users simply switch camera access on and off with the flick of a button.
