Luxury fragrance house Diptyque Paris is set to open the doors to a new boutique in Toronto’s Yorkdale Shopping Centre—their first standalone presence in the Canadian market—where visitors can indulge in the inimitable olfactory wandering the brand offers.

Designed and created in-house, this 484 square foot space was developed in accordance with the new “maison” image and architectural evolution of the brand. Inspired by the narrative of “imagination wanders”, visitors can explore a Parisian apartment, where tradition meets imagination and fantasy. An experience that starts right at the entrance with a typical French and mosaic entrance, the store’s overall architecture, from its moldings to the central fireplace, are reminiscent of classic Parisian architecture, but with a Diptyque twist using a hammered texture and sculptural elements.

These large sculptural elements are made of copper, with its impressive façade made from cedar shingles lacquered in a green colour honouring the brands new colour for all facades around the world. The back of the store is cladded with red lacquered panels and walls are lighted by two Murano sconces sourced from a flea market. These design element and inspiration are found throughout the store, transporting customers directly into the brand’s French heritage.

The store will also house a custom-made tapestry, curated by Kolkhose Paris. Embroidered using different weaving and stitches, the tapestry is mixed with a lot of white yarns in order to make light and pastel colours that are smooth to the touch with glints and reflections. A centrepiece for the store, the tapestry will provide an authentic, custom Parisian artistic experience for store visitors.

Visitors can engage and discover their own personal scent and shop a variety of the Maison’s items along with product launches such as the Summer Essentials and La Droguerie, an innovative home cleaning line which will be permanently part of the brand’s catalog. Every shopping experience will end with a ritual in which the purchase will be wrapped in its own unique combination of delicately folded tissue paper, in instantly recognizable Diptyque packaging.

The new Diptyque boutique will open at Yorkdale Shopping Centre (3401 Dufferin Street, Toronto) in July 2022.
